Originally built as a primary school in 1850, Sunrising is being thoughtfully reimagined—blending its rich heritage with modern luxury. Currently undergoing a meticulous rebuild, this six-bedroom retreat is set to offer a refined take on the ‘new English’ aesthetic: pared-back elegance, natural materials, and effortlessly liveable spaces designed with both comfort and style in mind. The project is due for completion in July 2025, with bookings available from September 2025—this is one to watch.

True to its name, Sunrising enjoys a spectacular vantage point overlooking the Salcombe estuary. From every window, you'll be treated to uninterrupted water views—particularly magical at sunrise, when the early light spills across Salcombe estuary.   Perfectly positioned, Sunrising is just a short stroll from the heart of town, where independent shops, fantastic restaurants, and stunning coastal paths await. Whether you’re hopping on a boat, indulging in fresh seafood, or setting off on a scenic walk, everything you love about Salcombe is within easy reach.

Set over three floors the generous layout  makes it ideal for families or groups looking for a memorable holiday.  With a large open plan living area.  multiple additional reception areas and six spacious bedrooms, there's ample room to gather or spread out.  Two large sheltered terraces invite you to soak up the estuary views, complete with a gas BBQ and relaxed garden furniture—perfect for those sunny evenings.  A gym, cinema room, and thoughtful touches throughout ensure a stay that’s both effortless and indulgent, and in a town where parking is a luxury, Sunrising also offers off-street parking for four cars, garage parking for two and EV charging.

While the property is still under construction and images are not yet available, we do have architect drawings that provide a clear sense of the layout and showcase the exceptional views on offer.

  • Changeover day at Sunrising is still to be confiirmed but likely to be Friday or Saturday.  

  • During peak weeks we require a 7 night minimum stay.

  • During low and mid season Sunrising  will accept short stays and can be more flexible with arrival days so please do enquire and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

GROUND FLOOR

 

  • Main Entrance Hallway: Accessed from Allenhayes Road, this welcoming hallway sets the tone for the rest of the house.

  • Beach Wet Room;; A practical space for Salcombe days, complete with shower, hanging space for wetsuits, and room for all your beach gear.

  • Inner Hallway & Guest Cloakroom:  Conveniently located for guest use, with stylish finishes throughout.

  • Bedroom 1 :  Super King / Twin -  Spacious and flexible, this room shares a bathroom with Bedroom 2.

  • Bedroom 2:  Super King / Twin - Another generously sized room, ideal for children or guests, sharing a bathroom with Bedroom 1.

  • Bathroom;  Shared between Bedrooms 1 and 2, this family-friendly bathroom features a bath and large double shower.

  • Cinema Room; A cosy hideaway with deep tones and soft ambient lighting—perfect for relaxing film nights.

  • Gym: Well-equipped with cardio machines, free weights, yoga and Pilates kit, plus a TV for workouts or background music.

  • Utility Room: With washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, and plenty of space for laundry essentials.

FIRST FLOOR 

  • Open-Plan Living Space ; A stunning, light-filled area with large windows framing estuary views and French doors opening onto a generous roof terrace - the sociable hub of the home.

    • Bespoke Treyone Kitchen: Fully equipped with everything the chefs of the group could need. A large island with bar stools offers a sociable spot for morning coffee. This open-plan kitchen flows into a relaxed dining and sitting area overlooking Salcombe Estuary.

    • Dining Area: A large extendable table comfortably seats up to 12, positioned to enjoy estuary views. 

    • Lounge Area: A cosy corner with comfortable sofas and armchairs, seating everyone with ease.  Includes a smart TV for laid-back evenings.

  • Secondary Kitchen & Dining Area: A well-equipped additional kitchen with dining table and seating for four—ideal for early risers or multi-generational stays.

  • Additional Lounge: A more intimate sitting space with room for four, a television, and a large window offering lovely views across the water.

  • Bedroom 3:  King - peaceful and private, with beautiful estuary views.

  • Shower RoomContemporary and convenient, large double shower, sink & WC for the use of Bedroom 3.

  • Secondary Entrance & Hallway: With access to an additional roof terrace, perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon read.

SECOND FLOOR 

  • Landing Area:  A spacious landing with two inviting reading nooks—perfect for a quiet moment with a book.
